Meet Misty — Owner of Darlin’ Doggies
My name is Misty, and dogs have been at the center of my life for as long as I can remember. I’m 47 years old and the proud mom of two amazing kids — a daughter who is 20 and a son who is 28. I have a little farm filled with chickens, rabbits, and, of course, our beloved Poodles and Doodles here in Concord, NC.
Darlin’ Doggies began with one very special Goldendoodle named Alli Mae. She is the most extraordinary and perfect dog I’ve ever owned, and she’s the reason I fell in love with the breed. Even though I’ve been breeding over 20 years, what started with her has grown into a passion and a purpose for doodles and poodles that I’ve been dedicated to for 9 years.
A Different Kind of Breeder
We aren’t a typical breeder — and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of.
Our dogs enjoy more than 2 acres of land, where they get to run, explore, and truly be dogs every single day. We do not keep our dogs in kennels. Instead, our breeding dogs live with carefully selected Guardian Families, where they receive one-on-one attention, stability, and the happy, healthy home life every dog deserves. When it's time to have their babies they come stay with us in our adorable puppy nursery.
An Incredible Team Behind the Scenes
Darlin’ Doggies is blessed with two outstanding kennel managers who care for our puppies like their own:
• Brittney Walden
Brittney leads our Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Puppy Culture development. She ensures that every puppy receives the proper foundation during those critical early weeks. She also manages medications, deworming schedules, vet appointments, and serves as a warm, helpful liaison between our customers and myself.
• Michelle Leonard
Michelle shares a lot of the duties that Brittney does and she also our talented photographer and helps capture every adorable moment. She assists daily with socialization, handling, and medication needs, making sure every puppy receives individualized attention. Together, Brittney and Michelle form an incredible team that helps us raise confident, healthy, well-rounded puppies. Michelle also does a great job keeping our customers updated with pictures weekly.
Our State-of-the-Art Puppy Nursery
One of the things I am most proud of is our $80,000 custom-built Farmhouse Puppy Nursery. It is truly something special — designed for comfort, cleanliness, safety, and enrichment. You can see photos of it below.
A Life Devoted to Dogs
In addition to breeding, I also own Darlin’ Doggies Grooming Salon in Concord, NC. Out salon has 8 amazing groomers (the best around) and 4 amazing bathers. I couldn't ask for a better group of girls. Being able to work with dogs every day — whether through grooming or raising beautiful doodle and poodle puppies — is truly a dream come true. Dogs give us loyalty, joy, and unconditional love, and I’m grateful to share that love with countless families.
Providing these amazing puppies to wonderful homes is more than a business to me — it’s my heart, my passion, and my purpose.
